Overview

DiscoverCars Quick Search is a lightweight Chrome extension that helps users start a prefilled car rental search on DiscoverCars and rerun recent searches from the extension popup.

What data the extension stores

The extension stores the following data locally in the user's browser:

• Recent searches entered in the popup
• A temporary pending search used to autofill the DiscoverCars page

What data the extension does not collect

• No personal identity information is collected by the extension
• No browsing history is collected
• No data is sold or transferred to third parties by the extension
• No analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs are included in the extension

How data is used

The stored data is used only to support the extension's core functionality:

• Remembering recent searches for quick reuse
• Passing the user's selected location and dates into the native DiscoverCars search form

Data storage

Data is stored using Chrome extension storage APIs on the user's device. The extension does not transmit this data to a separate backend operated by the extension publisher.

The extension uses the following permissions:

• storage to save recent searches locally
• https://www.discovercars.com/* host access to fill the native search form on DiscoverCars
